The strategies to help students limited vocabulary in english.

I've done my simple research by using 2 instruments, which are; 1) pre n post test, 2) interview. This sample is my students who are taking my English module.The strategies offered to them are; find the vocab through online (thesaurus, dictionary), look up in the dictionary, memorize / imagine the visual of the new word, apply the new word in the activities / daily life and many more. (couldnt remember)

The results are:

1) more than 90% use strategy : learning / finding new word through online. (it's a trend now)

2) more than 80% use the traditional strategy : look up in the dictionary.

The results might be vary in different situation. The sample chosen is my Hulu Selangor Community College students who have very minimal entry requirement for college.

As mentioned above, showed that how bored i am today.. Honestly, i've brought home some works to do but couldnt find d right mood to do and ended up sleeping. So now i'm trying to release my boredom by surfing d internet and trying to get back to my work..

D work that i brought back is my research thing.. U know, i got class with Che Din this coming Wednesday and i havent finish his work. Ah ha... I'll post my research finding later. It's good to share what we have. Sharing is caring!!! (Oh, so not me!!!!)

Just now, my elder sis called and asked My Incik Hafiz and me to go out. She wanted to go to Sogo for shopping. But My Incik Hafiz is working today until 6 pm, so couldnt go. Better get a good rest at home. I plan to dine at our favourite stall. D sweet sour fish is awesome!!.

The Clumsy Me..

Salam to everyone. Today, I'm on leave. I lost my car key and my spare alarm car key is not functioning. Aiyo... My Incik Hafiz got very angry with me. I just kept my mouth shut and just helped him do whatever he asked me to to. After an hour searching for the key, I knew I hast lost it. Last Monday, after i got back from hospital, I got very tired and sad (because of the result), so i quickly went into the house and I thought i put the key inside the Guardian's plastic bag. Maybe, i mistakenly threw the plastic bag!! But I thought I have checked it twice. Well... It is my luck maybe. 

So, my Incik Hafiz opened the car door by using the spare key and the alarm sounded noisily. But, in the end, he managed to stop the alarm. So, this morning I have to go to Perodua to get the new alarm for the car. Luckily my KJ approved my leave. I thought the price of the new alarm maybe somewhere RM 100 and above, so i spared about RM300 in case something happens.Supprisingly, the price is less than RM 45. So, I headed home happily. So, the pic above is my new alarm of the car key. 

Morale of the story,  put the important key( car, house and office ) in one safe place. A warning to me : do not be so clumsy!!

Frustrated day..

Salam. Why I call today is Frustrated day? Because:

1. I got back from hospital and then the doctor said, my ovary is not ok. That bothers me so much and i cried all the way home.

2. I got less money to be spent on. At first, i planned to have lunch with My Incik Hafiz , then shop a few things at Subang Parade. (Obviously not a few things ok!) But because of less money that i have now, i cancel the plans. I better get home soon and feed my new adopted cat. Acik Tom, that's her name. Hehehehe...

3. This reason is just the minor reason. I got frustrated because I found out that Safiq Rahim has a gf. What???? Haahaha. Silly me... Poor my My Incik Hafiz. No lah. As i mention before, I just admire him. Nothing more ok My Incik Hafiz.

These are the reasons why I get frustrated today. Well, I hope i can cheer up myself after taking a nap.Hahaha..Need to fresh up before cooking special maggie sup with extra egs asked by My Incik Hafiz. That's all for today. Bye!!!

Safiq Rahim???

Hello to everyone...

i think everyone knows Safiq Raim, a national footballer. Recently, maybe because i always look at his pictures, his updates and etc, i become one of his fans. hehehe. but my hubby doesnt know this. kalau tau, mampus kene marah. I admire him because he is skillful (very cliche right) and his cute face. The sad thing is, i have married and older than him. If not, i would tackle him straight away! hahahaha... I wish!!!!
But i wish him the best for his football career. Luv u Safiq Rahim. Oppppsss! I love my hubby. I admire u so much je.

I am freaking shocked!!!

I just got news that one of my friends met an accident. fatal one! Her sister died on d spot. Her nephews now are in ICU. She just got operated. Some small broken glasses got into her eyes.. I just called her sister and she told me that sue is doing ok. she is resting. I planned to go but the visiting hours just ended 8 pm just now. So worried and i really hope she is recovering.

I know her since uni time. She was my roomates and classmates too. she is so like me. But now, she's furthering her studies in PhD. I like her very much. So down to earth. Her died sister was so good to me. Worked as a nurse and always visited her at the hostel. Brought so much food for us. Her lovely mother is so good too. when i got merajuk when my mother remarried, i went to her house and she treated me like im her own daughter. what a thing...

I think i need to pay her visit. but i have classes 2morow. i'll try in d evening. Sue, if you are reading this, I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Cuti day a.k.a Kemas Dayy!!

Happy Chinese New Year to every1. Cuti panjang ni, no plans made at all.So, we just planned last nite that we would clean up our dearly home today. and lets see what we up to in the afternoon. Tapi up to now, (252 pm) My Incik Hafiz tak lapar. Sebab tu die senyap je. aku ni?? Kebulur tau... 

Baru 1st day cuti ni , dah bosan. There are another 3 days left. But i have my class ; English Class this saturday. 9 am - 4 pm. I got 30 students. Fuiyo!! Makcik2 ni dah get ready nak kene masuk kelas ke? Aku ni memang le garang, x hengat! That is what my students call me. But I m not that garang. I just prefer to speak out a bit louder than usual. If not, then my students tend to yawn and sleep in the end. In addition, i usually a bit frustrated if my students couldn't remember what they have learnt in primary school like noun, adjective, verb, all those tenses.... so, what should i do to all these makciks if the same things happen? Aiyo... i couldnt imaginelah. But for sure, I'll try to share whatever information that i have with them. I'll try to make them use English as they comfortable to use.

Oklah.. Wish me the  best for my class and whatever plans that My Incik Hapiz and I will do . Bye...
